Eleven Miles

A modernized Cinderella story, except it's through the eyes of the Prince (who's actually a demon on his mother's side), and instead of a ball, they meet to go on a ride into hell.

"Let's play a game, a game called Eleven Miles." How bad could it be? Riding around for only eleven miles? It was a stupid game, and the only thing it would cost was some time and dignity. Ryder thought it was just a game, but he was quickly proved wrong. Diya never doubted from the start. But since no one ever believed her, all she could do was ignore the voices in the dark and the monsters sliding their fingers up her spine. That is until Ryder starts hearing and feeling it all too.

Being a half demon or Cambion has its benefits. One of them, unfortunately for Ryder, isn't that its easier to talk to the girl you're secretly in love with. And life isn't easy for Diya either, forced to live with and for her uncaring Aunt. Add in a jealous cousin (Ryder's ex-girlfriend) and life totters on the edge for a long time. It all begins to topple when they all agree to go for a drive and play eleven miles.

Eleven Miles is a 3am game or 3am challenge where you drive for eleven miles in another dimension. The idea is that you will be led to the road if you follow the rules. Once on the road, there are more rules to follow and if you break them, your soul is at risk. If you manage to survive all eleven miles your deepest wish is said to be granted. By who, it's unclear. The real thing to ask is, is it worth it?

Kali decides it is and that Ryder, Diya, Serena, and Max need to play it with her to get what she wants. None of them are prepared for the costs, not even Kali. Ryder has to decide quickly whether or not to reveal his darker half. When Diya's life is threatened, he makes a choice that there's no going back from.
